Tom, Dick and Sally: The Story so far
It seems there really is an appetite for a dating community built upon intelligent foundations, honesty and openness. Now we need your ideas and feedback!

You take the time and effort to get in touch and then….nothing! If this is something you have experienced in the past, you’ll be glad to hear that this was one of the main reasons we started Tom Dick and Sally in the first place!
It all began on Euston Station about eighteen months ago as I was having a chat with my brother over a coffee in a very noisy cafe. I was telling him all about my traumas with online dating...that it was leaving me feeling thoroughly despondent and just a little bit grubby!
He suggested something that would leave people feeling good about themselves; a site they would be happy to show their friends and even their mum! After some research it became clear that I was not the only one struggling with the existing crop of sites; there was a clear desire for something that was focused on long term relationships and not sex or porn. Tom Dick and Sally was born!
In addition, more often than not, it is other member’s behaviour on a site that leaves people feeling negative about the experience; especially lack of response to messages.
With this is mind, we came up with the idea of a rating system that would recognise and highlight those members that behaved in a respectful and responsive way. This is one of the main development areas we want to address next. But it’s such a delicate area that we are inviting you, as founder members of Tom Dick and Sally, to shape its development. Please let us know your thoughts on this in the forum below.
Over the coming months Tom Dick and Sally plan to introduce a number of enhanced features. These will range from funky ways of flirting, to an enhanced photo gallery that everyone can tap into as well as SMS text alerts each time you get a new message or flirt. We’ll update you on these developments as and when they are added. We discuss ideas for new functions all the time so if you have any great ideas, let us know by adding a comment to the forum below this article.
With our fans page on Facebook up and running and a tremendous amount of positive coverage in the press recently, the membership has been steadily increasing day by day; there really does seem to be a desire for a site that is designed to help the gay community build enduring relationships whilst at the same time feeling positive about the experience.
We have enjoyed the journey so far and really hope we have created something in tune with you personally. Please let us know what you think; feedback at this early stage is going to be vital.

Thanks to both Ky and Queerpunk...It is the sense of inclusivity and being non-sex based that we are attempting to achieve. I agree some more work needs to be done within the site in terms of meeting the needs of a broader gender spectrum.

The site concept rocks! This is something I have been looking for - I've currently found that dating sites seem to be tailored towards the heterosexual market with a "LGB" box thrown in for a bigger revenue. Any sites I have found which are geared towards the gay markets are sexually based.
Also love that this site is reasonably priced.
Can't wait till more users sign up!

I'd like to say thanks for putting the b in lgbt, this is the only site I've seen that has a 'both' option. I would say though that maybe you could add more options on the gender front? ie. trans, genderqueer etc.just to make it that bit more inclusive. great job so far!

Perhaps add a preference for partner based on whether they are out or not? I'm more likely to date someone who is out, and I suspect others may be more comfortable with the opposite.

Love the site. SMS text alerts would be really helpful - great idea. It would also be really helpful to know if someone is a regular user or hasn't been on the site for ages, maybe you can add something in the profile section about this?
